St. Louis, MO   —  General Data Systems inks reseller agreement with Preton Ltd., a leading provider of print management and toner optimization software solutions.
GDS has been certified and begun offering the PretonSaver™ print optimization software that can reduce computer printer consumable expense by up to 50% to the great St. Louis metropolitan business community.

The Preton software essentially instructs printers how to lay the toner/ink on the page in an optimized way, using much less toner and ink. By using advanced mathematical algorithms, the software determines how many, and which dots of toner/ink can be removed from each printed element to still achieve the desired quality.

The value proposition is straightforward — any business can continue to work with whatever vendors they currently use to supply ink and toner — and the GDS/Preton software will simply enable you to purchase 1/3 less!

The agreement was inked in February, 2004. The newest versions of ProfitTool with IAS technology have shipped for more than a year and are utilized exclusively within the wholesale distribution industry.
